The GFX name may be new to the Industry, but not the people, experience or the products. GFX was born in 2001 after Carfel was acquired by SPX Filtran. GFX Inc is owned by a very familiar name in the Industry- George Feldenkreis and Fanny Hanono.
George Feldenkreis founded Carfel in 1961 and was one of the industries giants in the manufacturing and distribution of foreign overhaul kits and transmission components. On February 7, 2001, Carfel was sold to SPX Filtran which was later sold again in September of 2006 to Parker Hannifin Corp.
Carfel Inc was not only known for their products, they were known for the their people. Carfel employed over 150 people in their Miami based headquarters. Some of the names today in the aftermarket industry are synonymous to Carfel Inc. Our industry has made many changes in the last six years, but the one thing that has not changed, is the vision that Mr. Feldenkreis has always had- To be a leader in the aftermarket industry!

Mr. Feldenkreis has been in the Transmission Aftermarket business since 1961. His vision was to build a company that would offer a wide variety of quality transmission parts. During a time where imports were rarely seen in the U.S., Mr. Feldenkreis envisioned an influx of Japanese vehicles coming into the states. With this vision, he aligned himself with many overseas manufacturers and suppliers in order to be able to offer a wide variety of aftermarket Japanese and OE parts for the transmission industry. This is where Carfel was born. Today Mr. Feldenkreis is still active in GFX. |

Fanny is very well known by many distributors, suppliers and salespeople throughout the Transmission Industry. For many years, Fanny Hanono ran the Carfel Inc organization. Dios has been in the industry for 15 years. He was originally hired by Carfel, Inc and worked with SPX Filtran and Parker Hannifin throughout all the acquisitions. In 2005, George Feldenkreis and Fanny Hanono decided to re-enter the Automatic Transmission Industry. With that purpose, Dios was called to take the challenge. Dios is currently responsible for the day to day sales and operations of GFX. Here is a name that everyone knows….Mike has been involved in the transmission industry for 40 years, starting as an order picker for Metro Motive, a company in New York, owned by the same ownership of ALLOMATIC. Here he was responsible for purchasing and running the ATM kit line, as Metro was one of the first kit packagers. From there he moved on to Ajac Transmission Parts, one of the largest sellers of transmission parts in the 1970’s and 1980’s, as head of purchasing. Gradually, getting into sales, he moved on to FRANKLIN Transmission Parts, as Sales Manager. In 1992 He got the call of a lifetime, from George Feldenkreis, owner of Carfel Inc., to run the Domestic Sales Manager position. Here, he enjoyed his greatest success and fulfillment, guiding Carfel to a place of dominance in the industry. As Carfel was sold in 2001, he moved on to Alto Products Corp, in a dual position of V.P of Product Development and Head of export sales. As GFX grew, they saw a need for his past skills, so this year, he joined GFX, in a dual role of head of Product Development and involved in Export Sales as well.
